Name of Club: Fairview Elementary Book Club
Sponsor: Mrs. Amy Carter, Media Specialist
Purpose: For students to read and discuss one book each month with Mrs. Carter and their peers.
Description of Planned Activities: The Reading Club will meet on Monday and Friday mornings in the Media Center from 7:05a-7:35a. Any student may participate. 4th and 5th grade students who participate in the Book Club and read the first four books by December, 2023 will have the opportunity to be chosen for the Reading Bowl competitive team. This team will compete in a head-to-head "quiz-bowl" type competition against other Newton County elementary school teams at the Newton County Media Fest in early spring of 2024.
Fairview's Reading Bowl Team competed at the Newton County Media Fest on March 18, 2023. We finished in 4th place out of 14 elementary schools!!!
