FAIRVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

PARTNERS WITH BOOK BLAST

TO EXPAND THE HOME LIBRARY OF EVERY STUDENT

Recognizing increased screen time and the impact it has on literacy rates, FAIRVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL takes steps to put new, fun, age-appropriate books into the hands of every one of its students.

9/13/23

Kids are reading less, screen time is increasing, and school budgets are tight. On a mission to make reading cool again, Amy Carter decided to meet with the team at Books Are Fun to learn more about their book enrichment program – Book Blast.

With its innovative approach to creating more book worms, Book Blast guarantees at least one new book into the hands of every student at absolutely no cost to the school, little work from the school team, and no financial requirement of the parents. After reviewing the program and understanding there was zero risk to the school, Media Specialist Amy Carter moved forward and scheduled Book Blast to launch at FAIRVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL on 8/22/2023.

In two short weeks, with the help of the community (far and wide), the students at FAIRVIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL have over 1,000 brand new, age-appropriate books heading their way!

Here’s what Media Specialist Amy Carter, had to say about the Book Blast program, "This program was one of the easiest fundraisers I have ever participated in!  The support from the Book Blast company was top notch.  Everything to make your fundraiser a success was completed and provided to you, including the participation prizes, cash-filled Treasure Boxes, and iPad.  Plus, knowing that ALL of my students would benefit from this fundraiser by receiving their very own BOOKS made the decision to participate even easier.  I'm excited to say that I have already booked next year's fundraiser!!"
